Ford Family Collection
JoAnn Ford donated the most organized and thoroughly researched family history collection we have seen at PCGS. Ms. Ford’s family collection includes 29 binders of organized research and photographs. Three of these binders are filled with receipts and orders from William Ford’s Grocery established in Peoria, IL on Main Street. It includes Debit Journals, Cash Book and a Day Book. In addition to this large family history collection, JoAnn Ford self-published a 360-page book in 1993 called Descendants of William Ford I and Harriet Thompson Ford and some related families 1800-1995. Patrons can find this book at the Peoria Public Library Main Branch in Local History/Genealogy Department (lower level) at call # 929.9 FOR.
JoAnn Ford was born in Peoria on 21 February 1931 to Harold Reding and Ada Marie Hankins Ford. She was baptized at First Christian Church in Peoria on 17 June 1945. JoAnn graduated from Dunlap High School Dunlap, IL in 1949 and Bradley University with a BFA, June 1953 and was later employed as a Commercial Artist. Residences included Illinois, Utah, and Minnesota. Her church affiliations included Christian Church and the United Methodist Church. She remained unmarried. JoAnn Ford Obituary
JoAnn Ford, age 86, of Farmington, was born on February 21, 1931, passed away March 22, 2017. Born in Peoria, IL and moved to Farmington, MN in 1986 to live with her sister Harriet Daily. Formerly employed by International paper from 1953-1986. Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ada Ford; sister, Wilma Ford and brothers, John Ford and Bill Ford. JoAnn is survived by beloved sister, Harriet Daily; nephews, John (Bev) Ford, Rick Ford, Tom (Nancy) Daily, and Bill (Becky) Daily, and grandnephew/God child Sean Daily.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Farmington Methodist Church, 710 8th Street, Farmington, with a visitation one hour prior to service. Interment, Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials will be donated to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Farmington Methodist Church, or a charity of your choosing.
