Abstract
Contents: Correspondence, photos, histories, family trees, research, original sources such as birth, death, marriage, will, land, pension records
Subjects: primarily the Ryno family, which is the donor’s maiden name. So we have renamed the collection: Ryno/Finfgeld Collection. Miller, Ross, Moore, Barbee. In addition to this collection, PCGS Bible Records collection has 2 sets of Ryno Bible records.
Acquisition Information: 2019 Projects Committee found 2 file drawers full of labeled files. It was called the Finfgeld Collection. No information was included to determine where it came from except the correspondence had Lois Reno Finfgeld’s name on it. However, another donation was found in the Stark County Genealogical Society’s Quarterly from this same family. It read: donated by Lois Ryno Finfgeld through her son Charles R. Finfgeld (d 28 Oct 2015 Dickerson, MD, age 79) and her niece Margret Swanson Culton (birth 5 Dec 1914 Canton, Illinois / death 25 Sept 2013 San Antonio, Texas). It is our belief that the PCGS donation was made at the same time by the same people. Special note – Margret was very involved in the Fulton County Genealogical & Historical Society and a member of DAR (her obit).
Volunteers went through the two file drawers and put protective sheets over most of the collection, and labeled the contents. Keeping it in the order (it was in the drawers), the contents were then put in three ring binders and labeled.
